Four women, including one who was carrying an infant, face shoplifting charges after they tried to hide clothes from a J.C. Penney store in a baby carriage, police said.

The four women, all in their teens, loaded goods valued at $2,325 into that carriage in the Roosevelt Field store mall Monday night, police said. Security agents stopped them at the exit and police arrested them.

Jessica Stanley, 19, of Pond Hill Road in Great Neck, Caswell Jenkins, 19, of Pond Hill Road in Manhasset, Denise Irby, 18, of Pine Lake Drive in West Hempstead, and Britney Goins, 18, of Allen Drive in Great Neck, are all charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. They were arrested around 9 p.m.

Police said Irby also had marijuana and was charged with illegal possession.

Police said Stanley's two-week-old baby was released to the custody of a family member following the arrests.

All four women were scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead. Arraignment details were not immediately available.
