Cops: Workers accused of stealing jewelry from home
Nassau County police detectives arrested two brothers Friday on charges that they stole $3,500 in jewelry from an Oceanside house where they were doing construction work.
Detectives said Christopher Picone, 22, and Victor Picone, 24, both of Hewlett, stole the jewelry from the victim's bedroom and sold the items to local second-hand jewelry shops in the area.
Christopher Picone was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree possession of stolen property and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
His brother was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Both are scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
