A Copiague man faces a felony drunken-driving charge after driving the wrong way early Thursday on the service drive of the Long Island Expressway in Jericho, Nassau County police said.

A highway patrol officer saw Martin Peralta, 42, of 51 Stewart St., driving a 1998 Acura east in the left lane of the westbound service road at Exit 40 at about 4:45 a.m., police said.

The officer pulled over Peralta, according to a news release, and found "the defendant was operating under the influence of an alcoholic beverage."

Peralta is charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony because of a previous conviction in the past 10 years, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and several vehicle and traffic law violations.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
