A Queens man is facing DWI and vehicular assault charges after a single-car accident Tuesday morning in Cedarhurst that left two passengers hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

Keyon Mayweather, 20, of Shorefront Parkway, Arverne, lost control of his 2016 Nissan Altima, slamming into a utility pole at the corner of West Broadway and Bayview Avenue at about 1:20 a.m., knocking down utility lines, Nassau County police said.

A rear-seat passenger suffered lacerations, as well as skull and spinal fractures, police said. The front seat passenger also suffered spinal fractures, police said.

Neither male victim was identified by police. They were transported to a hospital.

Police said there were five people in the car. Mayweather suffered a possible neck injury, police said. He was transported to a different hospital for treatment.

The two other passengers were not hurt.

Police said Mayweather will be charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of vehicular assault and faces arraignment as soon as is “medically practicable.”

Police, members of the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, and a crew from PSEG Long Island responded to the scene.

Police said the vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
