Deliberations resume in upstate murder trial
Jury deliberations have resumed in the murder trial of a 20-year-old man charged in the fatal shooting of an Albany college student from Long Island.
A jury in Albany resumed deliberations Tuesday morning in the second-degree murder trial of De Von Callicutt, one of three men charged in the October 2008 shooting death of 22-year-old Richard Bailey of Wantagh.
The jury deliberated for more than five hours Monday night without reaching a verdict.
Authorities say Bailey, a University at Albany student and the son of a retired New York City police officer, was killed during a botched robbery as he walked home from a friend’s house.
The two other men with Callicutt the night of the shooting have both pleaded guilty to attempted robbery charges.
