Two men robbed a Westbury jewelry store Friday of an undetermined number of engagement rings and loose diamonds, Nassau County police said.

The two men entered the Westbury Jewelry Exchange on Old Country Road at 3:40 p.m. posing as customers, police said. One man asked to see engagement rings, while the other asked to use the bathroom.

When the second man returned, the first man pulled a handgun and demanded property, police said. There were no customers in the store atthe time and no one was injured, police said.

One man was described as being about 6 feet tall, with a heavy build, wearing a black nylon waist-length rain jacket, a black hat, black pants, a white T-shirt and sunglasses; the other was 5 feet 5 inches, wearing a black baseball cap and dark clothing.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All callers will remain anonymous, police said.
