The Bellmore Memorial Library reopened at 2 p.m. after being evacuated earlier, library officials said.
Nassau County police investigators responded to the library Friday morning after an anonymous caller phoned in a threat, police said.
The call, reporting the possibility of a "device" at the library, was received at 11:38 a.m., police said. Police said they could not provide details on what type of device was suspected -- and said only that the matter is under investigation.
No device was found, said Maureen Garvey, library director.
The library is at 2288 Bedford Ave.
