DOT: Expect lane closures on Jericho Turnpike
Route 25 in Jericho will have at least one lane closed in each direction from Monday through Nov. 13 -- except for Election Day, state transportation officials said.
At Route 106/107, the eastbound and westbound left lanes of Route 25, also known as Jericho Turnpike, will be closed Monday for pre-construction preparation, officials said Friday.
All lanes will remain open on Tuesday, Election Day, the state alert said.
The around-the-clock left lane closures will resume Wednesday, going through Nov. 13, officials said.
Drivers should also expect frequent daily but temporary closures of the center travel lanes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., officials said.
Crews will be repairing the Route 25 concrete bridge deck that goes over Route 106/107, state officials said. Due to age, the concrete has been crumbling, and transportation officials want repairs done before the winter.
After the work is finished, lane closures will continue as the concrete cures, but at least one lane in each direction will be open at all times, officials said.
The road work may be canceled, postponed or prolonged, depending on weather, state officials said.
