Because of bridge maintenance repair work, two of three travel lanes of the Meadowbrook State Parkway in the Town of Hempstead will be closed overnight Wednesday and Thursday, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The installation of scaffolding at the Zeckendorf Boulevard and Merchants Concourse bridges necessitates the following lane closures, weather permitting, the DOT said:

On Wednesday, two northbound lanes between Exit M5 (Hempstead Turnpike/New York Route 24) and Exit M2 (Zeckendorf Boulevard) will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

On Thursday, two southbound lanes will be closed between Exit M1 (Old Country Road) and Exit M3 (Merchants Concourse), also from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Motorists can consider alternate routes, such as the Wantagh State Parkway, or face delays, the DOT said.
