Travel on Jericho Turnpike in the Town of Oyster Bay will be reduced to a single lane during overnight hours for about two weeks for a 2.6-mile repaving project, the state Department of Transportation said Friday.

The lane closures on the turnpike, also known as Route 25, are between Roxbury Road and Robbins Lane in Jericho between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, the agency said.

Drivers who exit the Long Island Expressway at Exit 40, Jericho Turnpike, should expect delays, according to a news release.

The paving project, which began Wednesday, should be completed in about two weeks, weather permitting.

The project replaces the top layer of worn asphalt and traffic signal loop detectors and adds fresh pavement markings.

"Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes or allow extra time as they will experience delays," the release said.
