DOT: Lane closings on Front Street in Hempstead for road work

Parts of Front Street in the Village of Hempstead will have lane closings overnight beginning Monday for road work, state officials said.

Lanes of Front Street will be closed weekdays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. between William Street and Hempstead Turnpike, the Department of Transportation said.

“Single lane closures or full closure of the road is possible until the end of July,” DOT said.

Drivers should look for portable message signs that will inform them of upcoming work and redirect them to any detours, the agency said.
