DOT: Part of Jericho Tpke. shut for about an hour near Glen Oaks Club
An overturned truck closed all eastbound lanes of Jericho Turnpike for about an hour Friday morning, not far from the ongoing PGA Northern Trust at Glen Oaks Club golf tournament, officials said.
The state Department of Transportation’s informny.com website reported the closure at 6:42 a.m. at Woods Road, on the border of Old Westbury and Westbury.
Old Westbury police estimated the road would be reopened by about 8 a.m., but could provide no other details.
The DOT reported the road was reopened at 7:43 a.m.
The PGA is holding a tour event this week at the Glen Oaks Club, which is just north of the accident scene. It was not clear if the crash affected tournament traffic.
