DOT: Ramp closure overnight on Southern State Parkway

The Franklin Avenue entrance ramp to the eastbound Southern State Parkway at Exit 16 in North Valley Stream is to be closed overnight, the state Department of Transportation said.

The closure, from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, is to allow for guardrail repair and other maintenance, the DOT said.

Drivers should plan to use an alternate route, such as Exit 14 at North Fletcher Avenue, to reach the eastbound parkway, the DOT said.

Also, motorists are reminded to drive with care in the vicinity of the work zone.
