A Deer Park man faces a drunken driving charge after he was caught going 106 mph in his BMW on the Southern State Parkway during the weekend, State Police said Monday.

A trooper spotted Ray Robinson, 23, driving eastbound on the parkway near Exit 31, Bethpage Parkway, in North Massapequa Saturday at 4:41 a.m., police said.

During a traffic stop, police said Robinson was given a field sobriety test and provided a breath sample that registered .15 percent blood alcohol content -- nearly twice the legal limit in New York. The legal limit is .08.

The legal speed limit on the Southern State Parkway is 55 mph.

Robinson was arrested and charged with DWI and traffic violations, is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on March 30.
