A driver had only minor injuries after his car struck an auto body repair shop on South Main Street in Freeport Monday morning.

A village spokeswoman said the car hit the northwest corner of a building near Raynor Street at about 5:30 a.m., damaging the structure.

The building was reinforced by work crews from the Freeport Fire Department, said Sophia Johnson, the spokeswoman.

Also, the owner of the building was working with the building department to make sure any necessary repairs would be made, she said.
