Driver hurt in crash into Glen Cove building

A woman was hospitalized after her car crashed into a gas station, then a beer distributor early Tuesday in Glen Cove, police said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at 2:26 a.m.

She hit the retaining wall of the gas station, then careened across the street, hitting the facade of the Glen Cove Beer Distributors, Glen Cove police said. That broke a gas pipe at the beer company, police said.

The driver was transported to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset with an ankle injury, police said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
