A driver was hospitalized after his car flipped Sunday morning in Locust Valley, authorities said.

Nassau police said they received a call shortly after 8 a.m. reporting the crash at Forest Avenue and Birch Hill Road.

A motorist had struck another vehicle, then flipped over, said Brian Nolan, first assistant chief of the Locust Valley Fire Department, which responded to the scene.

Nolan said his crew had to remove both the front and rear passenger doors of the vehicle using heavy rescue equipment to free the driver from the wreckage.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for evaluation and treatment, Nolan said.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, he said.
