Drone show Thursday at Embassy Diner in Bethpage to honor those lost on 9/11

In what's being called "a special evening of remembrance," the Embassy Diner will host a drone show Thursday night in Bethpage — with 1,000 drones lighting up the night sky as a tribute to those lost in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
The event, hosted with support from Nassau County, the Town of Oyster Bay and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled between 7 and 8 p.m. outside the diner, at 4280 Hempstead Turnpike, just west of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.
The event drew thousands last year.
In an Instagram post announcing the show, Embassy Diner owner Gus Tsiorvas said: "(1,000) drones will light up the sky over the Embassy Diner this Sept. 10 — but this night is about so much more than what you're going to see in the sky."
As Tsiorvas said in that video post, 9/11 "has always meant remembering the people we lost, honoring the first responders who answered the call — and making sure why this generation should never forget. That's why we're doing it again.
"One community, one night of remembrance. We will never forget."
