A Holbrook woman was arrested early Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated after a two-car collision on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday, Nassau police said.

Rachel Maldonado, 22, was driving a 2002 Nissan east near Searingtown Road in North Hills at 5:50 a.m. when her car collided with a 2011 Acura, police said.

The crash investigation closed two eastbound lanes of the expressway for several hours, and Maldonado's car was impounded. The expressway has since been reopened.

Maldonado's three passengers and the driver of the Acura reported neck and back pain; the passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment, and the Acura's driver was treated at the scene.

Maldonado was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. She was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
