DWI charges for woman driving child to school

A woman was arrested and charged with DWI after she drove a 9-year-old child to a Baldwin elementary school function, Nassau police said Friday.
Dana E. Arnold, 32, of 669 Lakeside Dr., Baldwin, was also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under 16 and with endangering the welfare of a child.
Arnold was arrested at the Meadow Elementary School on Jackson Street about 8 p.m. Thursday, police said, after others there observed her and notified authorities.
She was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, and ordered held on $2,000 bond or $1,000 cash bail.
