An East Norwich man has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly writing checks on a closed bank account, Nassau County police said.

Nicholas Analitis, 34, was charged Friday with three counts of grand larceny and two counts of possession of a forged instrument.

Police said that Analitis wrote checks on the closed accounts and then tried to issue forged bank checks on fictitious accounts to avoid being discovered.

Analitis was arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead
