An East Farmingdale man was arrested on Saturday night and charged in the stabbing of another man during an altercation, Suffolk County police said.

Michael Guerriero, 21, was arrested after police received a report of a stabbing at Park Circle South and Birch Avenue in East Farmingdale at 11:42 p.m.

At the scene, witnesses told police that Guerriero stabbed Victor Quijano, 20, of Patchogue. The witnesses had held Guerriero at the scene for police.

Quijano was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he was treated for a collapsed lung as a result of a stab wound to the left side of his back, police said.

Guerriero was charged with second-degree assault and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
