A Queens man was killed Monday when he lost control of the car he was driving in East Meadow and crossed the center line before striking a tree, Nassau police said.
Kenneth Moutrie, 62, of Astoria, was pronounced dead shortly after the 6:47 a.m. crash on Carman Avenue, according to Third Squad detectives.
Police said Moutrie was driving north in a 2011 Ford when he veered into the southbound lanes and struck a tree head-on. He suffered severe trauma and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
