An East Meadow gas station attendant was robbed at knifepoint early Wednesday morning by a customer who bought a soda and paid for it, then pulled a knife and took cash from the register drawer, Nassau County police said.

The clerk, 24, was not injured in the 2:55 a.m. robbery at a Mobil station at 651 Merrick Ave.

The suspect escaped on foot, police said. He was described as 6 feet and 300 pounds.

First Squad detectives are investigating the crime. They ask anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 800-244-TIPS.
