Crews replace burst pipe in East Meadow after water-main break
Crews have replaced a burst pipe from a water main break Monday morning in East Meadow, the Hempstead Town supervisor's office said.
The break closed North Jerusalem Road between Bellmore Avenue and Cynthia Drive, causing major damage to that stretch of the street, according to town spokesman Mike Fricchione. He said the damaged pipe was replaced and crews next need to fill the damaged road with sand and repave it. Fricchione said that work was expected to be completed Monday between 9 p.m. and midnight.
