Eastbound Sunrise in Merrick reopens
Eastbound Sunrise Highway in Merrick was closed for nearly two hours so a medical-rescue helicopter could land after a serious accident Friday, Nassau County police said.
The chopper took at least one person to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.
Police did not immediately have more details.
The crash was at 10:55 a.m. just east of the Meadowbrook Parkway, police said. Police reopened the road to traffic at about 12:45 p.m.
