Police are investigating a one-car crash Sunday morning, March 15, 2015, at Wantagh Avenue and Grey Lane in Levittown. Credit: Paul Mazza

A Wantagh man was killed early Sunday morning when the car he was driving struck a utility pole and a tree in Levittown.

Nassau County police identified the victim as Eklind Veizas, 24.

According to detectives, Veizas was driving his 2005 Toyota north on Wantagh Avenue near Grey Lane at 3:39 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway, striking the utility pole and tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said there were no passengers and that the car was impounded for brake and safety checks.

Authorities were continuing to investigate the accident and provided no further details.
