A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured Saturday night when their Jeep was struck by a pickup truck attempting to change lanes near the Jones Beach State Park toll booths on the Wantagh State Parkway, State Police said.

The driver of the Ford F-250 pickup truck and his four passengers all suffered minor injuries in the two-vehicle crash at 8:56 p.m., police said Monday.

The crash killed Elisabeth Cutrone, 51, of Bethpage, who police said died after being airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. Her husband, Douglas Cutrone, 42, was transported to the hospital with a fractured hip, police said.

The pickup driver, Eugenio Taveras-Galindo, 35, of Westbury, was headed south when he tried to change from the toll lanes to the through lanes at the Jones Beach booths, and collided with the southbound Jeep Cherokee driven by Cutrone, police said.

Taveras-Galindo and his four passengers, none of whom were identified by police, also were taken to Nassau University Medical Center. All were treated there for minor injuries, police said.

Police said no one has been charged, but the investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to call accident investigators at the Valley Stream barracks at 516-561-8492.
