An Elmont man was arrested Tuesday on child pornography charges after an investigation found he had used an online file-sharing network and possessed and promoted videos containing sexual performances by a child, police said.

Trevor Terry, 21, of Fourth Street, was arrested at 6:45 a.m. by Nassau County police.

The arrest followed an investigation by Crimes Against Property Squad detectives.

Police said that between April 21 and May 4, Terry had used an online sharing network to possess and promote "numerous videos."

He was charged with five counts of promoting sexual performance by a child and five counts of possession of sexual performance by a child. He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
