Anyone planning to watch fireworks Monday should expect clear views and a beautiful evening.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s across Long Island, said Joe Pollina, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Upton.

There is an isolated chance of showers but Pollina said Long Islanders will most likely stay dry throughout the day.

Morning fog that appeared in some parts of Long Island is gone or on its way out, Pollina said.

Monday night will be partly cloudy, he said, adding that fireworks should be clearly visible.

However, those visiting Long Island's South Shore beaches should be aware of an increased chance of rip currents, Pollina said.

"Anyone going in the water should be cognizant of the possibility of rip currents while they are swimming," he said.
