A Long Island Rail Road train from Atlantic Terminal to Far Rockaway was held at Valley Stream Friday morning because of a fare dispute, police said.

Nassau County police could not provide additional details, saying the matter was being handled by Metropolitan Transportation Authority police. No one from the railroad could immediately be reached for comment.

The incident happened on the 7:42 a.m. train from Atlantic Terminal. That train was scheduled to arrive in Far Rockaway at 8:37 a.m.

The train was likely to be delayed at least 25 minutes, the railroad said.
