Driver killed, 3 seriously hurt in Roosevelt crash into utility pole

A man died Saturday night after driving into a utility pole in Roosevelt, in a crash that seriously injured a 9-year-old and two other passengers, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
His name wasn't disclosed.
The crash happened just before 7:45 p.m. as the man, age 37, drove a Chrysler sedan southbound on Brookside Avenue at the intersection with West Centennial Avenue, the department wrote in a news release issued early Sunday.
In the car with the man were a 36-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 9-year-old girl, who were all seriously hurt, the release says.
The cause of the crash, if known, wasn't disclosed. A police investigation into the crash was ongoing.
