Father, son arrested for assault

Police went to the Spruce Street residence at about 2:25 a.m. after receiving a call about an unconscious person at the home.

Officers arrived and entered the room of 22-year-old Michael Rosen, the person about whom the call was placed.

When police tried to guide Rosen toward an ambulance, Rosen began punching one officer in the face and body, then punched two other officers as they stepped in to help, police said.

Rosen was arrested and placed in the ambulance, and was taken to a hospital, where he was admitted. He was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and is scheduled to be arraigned as soon as practical.

One officer received a sprained right ankle and right knee, while another officer suffered pain to his abdomen and right wrist and elbow. The officers were taken to a hospital for treatment and released.

Police said after Rosen was arrested, his father, Robert Rosen, 52, then threatened an officer and tried to prevent him from leaving the home.
