The Village of Port Washington North has set a list of prohibitions in village parks, piers, beaches, ballfields and docks.

Restrictions include prohibiting residents in these areas from bringing or consuming alcohol, building bonfires or barbecues, erecting tents or structures, littering, or behaving boisterously or in a threatening way. The law was passed unanimously by the village board of trustees at a recent meeting.

Village parks, piers, beaches, ballfields, docks and their facilities are closed from sunset to sunrise, according to the local law. Pets are required to be on leashes in these village locations.

Penalties for first-time violations will not exceed $250 but will escalate for repeated offenses.
