Fire at Greek Orthodox Church in Merrick

Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Merrick was on fire Friday night, Nassau County police said.
Police and fire crews were dispatched to the church at 2421 Hewlett Ave. at 9:28 p.m., officers said.
No injuries were reported as of 10 p.m. Friday. The extent of damage to the church wasn't immediately known.
