Fire damages Roosevelt house
A Roosevelt house burned on Saturday, but no one was injured in the blaze, Nassau County police said.
Police went to 5 Hausch Blvd. at 7:45 p.m. to find the place fully engulfed in flames. Fifty fire personnel and six trucks from departments in Roosevelt, Uniondale, Hempstead and Freeport, fought and extinguished the blaze.
The home was empty at the time, and no one was injured, police said. The owner of the house arrived after his alarm company alerted him to a smoke alarm sounding at his residence.
Police said the fire has determined to be non-suspicious and of undetermined origin. The investigation is continuing.
