A fire at a Great Neck liquor store closed Northern Boulevard for several hours on Sunday, police and fire officials said. As of 2:05 p.m., the road was reopened in both directions.

Fire officials got the call about the fire at 1 Northern Blvd., home of Boulevard Wines and Liquors, shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday. Chief Kyle Dugger of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department said when crews arrived, the liquor store was fully in flames.

The Great neck Vigilant Engine and Hook & Ladder Company also responded to the fire, as did the FDNY, because the fire occurred on the Queens-Nassau border.

Dugger said the fire was extinguished "relatively quickly." He said officials opened up the eastbound lanes of Northern Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m.

While the liquor store was charred, the upstairs office space and an adjoining bicycle shop suffered smoke damage. Dugger said there were no injuries.
