A fire scorched a Plainview nail salon and a pizzeria next door Saturday evening before the blaze could be quenched in about an hour.

The Plainview Fire Department got a call just before 6 p.m. that a fire had broken out at the Central Park Nail & Spa at 131 Central Park Road, according to the Nassau County Deputy Fire Marshal Andrew Schmitt.

Firefighters from Syosset, Hicksville, Bethpage, Melville, Farmingdale, Westbury and Levittown — 75 first responders in all — rushed to the scene. The fire spread to the ceiling and roof of the salon and to Francesco’s Pizzeria and Restaurant. The three other businesses, a dance studio, a Chinese restaurant and a dry cleaner, were not harmed by the blaze.

The fire was under control by 7:45 p.m. No one was injured, Schmitt said.

"They're probably going to have a lot of work to do," Schmitt said, adding that he did not think that the building would have to be knocked down.

Nassau County police arson investigators and the fire marshal are looking into the blaze.

The small strip shopping center, which is at the intersection of Central Park Road and Southern Parkway, is across Southern from Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School
