Police are investigating the theft of an East Meadow doctor's car after a suspect entered his office and took his keys and a woman's purse. Surveillance video at the office shows a suspect entering various rooms, taking the car keys and then going outside where he takes the car, said Debbie Zaso, office manager and wife of Dr. John Zaso. A volunteer firefighter's emergency response vehicle, stolen last week from an East Meadow parking lot, was recovered in Uniondale, police said Tuesday.

The New York State "FLY" vehicle, taken on Jan. 11, was recovered Monday, police said. Detectives are still looking for the person responsible for the theft.

A man entered a doctor's office at 611 Merrick Ave. at 10:07 a.m. and took property there, including the keys to the vehicle, police said. He was later captured on a surveillance video getting into the vehicle in the building's parking lot and driving off, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information about the theft contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
