Firefighters in Roosevelt responded to a house fire on Mirin Avenue not long after 8 a.m. Friday, officials said.

The fire was reported at 8:02 a.m. Nassau police said a responding officer was taken to a hospital after suffering smoke inhalation. His condition was not immediately known.

Police and fire officials said there were no additional injuries reported and said firefighters had extinguished the blaze by about 9:30 a.m. The cause of the fire was not known.
