Four people were forced to evacuate, including one who was hospitalized, after a fire broke out at a Floral Park house early Tuesday, authorities said.
Around 2:06 a.m., the Floral Park Fire Department was alerted to a house fire on Daisy Avenue, Assistant Chief Fire Marshal James Hickman said in a news release.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fire on the first floor. Four occupants of the house got out with assistance from the Floral Park police, Hickman said.
All occupants were evaluated by EMS and one was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
Floral Park firefighters, joined by six area departments at the scene, brought the fire under control in about 25 minutes, Hickman said.
The cause of the fire was not yet determined, Hickman said.
