Fog, rain gives way to sunnier week

Rain and areas of dense fog are making for a tough morning commute Monday.

The National Weather Service said North Shore locales also can expect minor coastal flooding, due to tidal departures of about 1 1/2 feet above astronomical high tides. The worst of that flooding is expected between 7-8 a.m.

Overnight rain is creating small ponds and flooding on some local roads and areas of fog, some of it dense, is creating poor visibility. The weather service said we can expect the temperature to soar into the low 60s Monday, but said rain will continue throughout the day and into the evening before stopping.

Sunny skies are expected Tuesday, though highs are expected only in the upper 40s.

The remainder of the week is expected to be dry and clear, with highs in the upper 40s and overnight lows in the 30s.
