Driver Francis Ossandon arrested after fatally striking bicyclist Francis Llanos, police say

A Bethpage driver struck and killed a bicyclist in North Massapequa Sunday and then left the scene, Nassau County police said.

Francis Ossandon, 77, of Florence Road, was arrested at his residence on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatality, police said.

Bicyclist Francis Llanos, 59, of Seaford, was hit at about 6:26 p.m., as he was riding on Hicksville Road, Route 107, according to a news release.

He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was pronounced dead.

Ossandon is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
