Detectives are investigating the gunpoint robbery early Friday of a Franklin Square drugstore.

The robber, displaying a dark-colored handgun, approached a 23-year-old clerk at CVS, 640 Franklin Ave., at 3:15 a.m. and "demanded that he open the cash register," Nassau County police said.

The suspect "removed an undetermined amount" of money and fled, police said. He was described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 190 pounds, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a white T-shirt, white socks, black sneakers and dark sweatpants, police said.

The one worker in the store at the time was not injured, police said.

Detectives urge anyone with information about the robbery to anonymously call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
