A 33-year-old Franklin Square man was killed Friday when his pickup truck slammed into a car and rolled over several times on the Southern State Parkway in Valley Stream, New York State Police said.

Don L. Tylutki lost control of his Ford pickup in the right lane and crashed into an Infiniti driven by Andrew Perkins of Hempstead, who was driving in the left lane, police said.

The incident occurred about 6 p.m.

Tylutki was partially thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. Perkins suffered minor injuries, police said.

All eastbound parkway traffic near the accident site was detoured off the parkway, police said.
