Freeport man pleads not guilty in shooting 4 years ago

Detectives have arrested a Freeport man in connection with a shooting more than four years ago, Nassau County police said Saturday.

Kerron Peters, 22, of 109 Pine St., shot a victim in the neck on April 7, 2006, in Freeport, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead, where he was ordered held in lieu of $250,000.
