Cops: Man shot at Freeport recording studio
Police are searching for the assailant who walked into a music recording studio in Freeport on Monday night, shot one man -- and fled.
The shooting was reported by the victim, who Nassau County police said was able to exit the building and flag down a police ambulance that was at a nearby Long Island Rail Road station. The victim, identified only as a 26-year-old man, was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
The shooting took place inside Sound Castle Studios on Sunrise Highway at about 9:40 p.m.
Police said the victim was shot in the back -- and that he was unable to describe the shooter. It was not clear if the victim worked at the studio or was a client. Additional details of the shooting were not immediately available Tuesday.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain confidential.
