A Freeport woman confronted in her home Thursday by two men demanding cash - one armed with a gun and another a knife - refused them, police said, so they fled with only two bags of clothing.

There were no reported injuries, Nassau police said.

The woman and her husband were selling clothes out of their basement on Southside Avenue about 3 p.m., police said, when two men entered and filled two bags with clothing.

The woman told them how much they owed for the clothing, but instead of paying, one man brandished a handgun and the other a knife, police said, and demanded money from her.

When she would not comply, the two men fled on foot westbound on Southside Avenue with the bags of clothing, police said.

First Squad detectives are investigating and asked that anyone with information contact them through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
