Garden City Park man struck, killed by car
A Garden City Park man died early Saturday after he was hit by a car on Jericho Turnpike near Fourth Avenue, Nassau County police said.
Fidel Vanegas, 46, was crossing southbound on Jericho Turnpike, in Garden City Park, when a 2010 Nissan hit him. A 29-year-old New Hyde Park man was driving the Nissan, police said.
Vanegas was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola where he was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m.
No charges were filed.
