Gas main accident evacuates building
A forklift operator accidentally punctured a gas main Friday morning at a commercial building in Syosset, leading to a precautionary evacuation, Nassau County police said.
The incident occurred at 10:40 a.m. on Michael Drive.
Police said the Syosset Fire Department and National Grid emergency crews were on scene. No one was injured.
